Jamestown II

These savages
look pretty weird
they can't be trusted
steal you blind
take your women
eat your corn
no
we need a militia
good sturdy MEN
well armed
with attack dogs
cannons
the Word of God
then
we can take it to them
lock and load
let them swing
naked from the apple trees
we'll burn them
in a pile like dry logs

Nobody said this would be easy
I gave up a life of petty crime
to be here
I survived by wits and steel
a four month crossing, 100 souls aboard
half of 'em dead when we arrived

Their country?
Lord no!
it goes to the meanest bastards around

you know that

I lacked attention when it came to history classes, when we take a good hard look at how we came to be here, it sure changes perspective...is it too late to get back on the ships to make things right? It just goes on and on..

Still writing excellent poems I see! Unfortunately things do seem to go to the meanest bastards around.

This makes me think of how very narrow minded society can be, even today. It's chilling, this piece; reminds me of Australia and the slaughter that happened there when the white men came. Anyway, it won't do any good starting to get all political about this!

I will just appreciate the fabulous poetry

    Excellent!

There is a lot of originality inside of this poem!
