forget the love you felt!
it wasn’t real, you know.
forget the kind hugs that
sent sweet-and-sexy chills
up and down your baby spine.
she won’t touch you that way
ever again!
forgive that bad old dad
in his beer-stained t-shirt,
who beat a nation of tar
out of you. he didn’t
mean it and even if he did,
it doesn’t matter too much
any more!
forbear those flabby fools
with greasy green ideals who
talk the brains out your ears.
they have no one else to
listen to their sad-slobbery
tales of faded happiness
except you.
What emotions does this evoke in you?

Scarey Real
Very well written. This is too real. I could feel the pain and the betrayals. It really leave me rather speechless.. making me wanting to hug the pain away. I wonder if that is possible... Blessings. Debby

the first stanza's unrequited love was tangible and wonderfully well spoken. The second is a frightening and all too real portrayal of an abusive father. The third is my fav, speaking of the lost and lonely, well past their glory days, who seek desperately for anyone to help them relive those times. Well done.
