Fire and Ice

His passion burns
The icy cold depths of my heart.

I'm drowning in my thoughts,
In my mutable emotions...

He loves life,
And flies above,
And on the flames that lick me.

He is so above me,
And better than me and my icy heart...

Even he can't melt my shell,
Though,
It's slightly thawed.

I can feel,
And I'm drowning
In my thoughts,
Threatening to overcome me,
To overflow the dam...

He loves life,
And rides the flames,
That are so far better than
The ice capsules that are
My heart...

This seems to be a bittersweet experience...
one where we can't help but to keep reaching
for what may never be held. Then too, I hear
a sorrowful voice of acceptance, seeing those
feelings that will never make it through.
    Thank-you for this goodbye! Blue
