It's been quite a long while.
I kind of thought you left for good.
But, apparently you have not been far away at all.
You know I've attempted moving on.
This is not how I left you, you're different.
Is it me, perhaps I am the one who's changed, yes?
Well, at any rate; how's tricks?
I see one thing that hasn't changed is...
you still have that little bit of edge over me, aye?
Little by little I'm shedding.
The polishing is rather a hard thing.
But, its eternally, and infinitely worth it all, yes.
The next time you visit with me,
who knows but that the total sting is gone?
And, the coffee we share then will be more soothing.

Loved it.
Wonderfully written, the conversation was really good.
I like the way you evaluated the memory. How you realized the changes on how you viewed it, and so forth. Excellent. Good Luck in the contest. -

Broken relationships do get better with time, and the day comes when the coffee and time together is not as bitter...speaking from experience, even though it might take three decades...time and age takes care of a lot of things..I enjoyed your poem.
