Whispers slowly fade to silence,
Patience nearly pulled to shreds.
Waiting quiet, posed for action.
Rays of blue, dim overhead.
Eerie silence breaks abruptly
By the orchestra's first chord.
Blinding light that warms your being
Casts the scene and wakes the bored.
Colors tease the hungry senses
While we dance and chorus sings.
Music takes emotions hostage,
Trumpets duet with the strings.
Crowd is standing, loudly clapping,
Begging, pleading for one more.
As we exit, there we find them
Waiting by the backstage door.
Laughing ‘til the stomach’s cramping,
Crying ‘til it dries the eyes.
Life, for all, is full of drama,
That is where my passion lies.

This is a good poem! The best poem about theater that I have ever read. I danced on stage for 11 years and I was in one or two plays, but I did more stage crewing. I think you really captured the feelings of the theater and I really like the way you wrapped it up in the ending.
Keep writing and rhyming!
