The Hill's Children

A sharp shot of vodka went down smoother
than before
You led me by the hand and
I was right back where I used to be.
Although it was a different place entirely.

The sheep betrayed us,
and she saw, she saw.

The fence was higher and the mesh was made
of icicles,
Our legs fell and thundered down the bank.
We were the hill's children.
We lay on our backs,
(I lay on your jacket),
And you confessed the scar on your flesh
was all mine
It was not a lie

We lay on our backs,
And remembered constellations that we had shared,
In a different place entirely,
That was exactly the same.

I may be looking at this poem wrong but I found it very cute, I like how it flowed and had a very "The more things change, the more they stay the same, " Theme to it.

  • Nice image and magical flow in the scenario you have portrayed my friend..my thanks for sharing it with me my friend...
