Piece of Me

I never realized how much I love you
Until the day you left me here
I didn't hold you love so true
As I held you near

Still you took a piece of my heart away
A piece no one can replace
You took you life that dreadful day
A choice you can't erase

You left me here all alone
You are the only one i love
Your death drove through me like a stone
Now you watch me from heavan above

Why did you knock at death's door
Was you life really that bad
I could have been there for you more
I would have held you when you were sad

We could have fought this together
I would never leave your side
I would have been there through all weather
You didn't have to hide

I thought secrets didnt happen
You know how much I care
This wasnt supposed to happen
This really isnt fair

My love for you continues to grow
My love for you is true
I just wish you could know
I never stopped loving you

    Moving

This poem reminds me of deep feelings I've known myself. The lines, I could have been there for you, and I thought there were no secrets are something to which I can really relate, and you make your feelings most clear. The Title makes it quite evident that the loss left you feeling un whole. It was a fine poem, deeply moving.
