Crimson covers, thick over breath of energy
impression left warm from gentle beauty
Broom swept still as rhythm calms
sleeping in peaceful embrace
Maternal scent surrender’s field of dreams
planting wishes, sprouting seeds
petals caressing hopes, giving way
to curve of vitality’s wistful smile
All the while
a sentinel for this precious gift
the pleasure of preference
quiescence rendered
