night jasmine

you speak from that hedge

where vines ripple
with wind

outside in the night

long, leafy tongues sing

in your mouth, and in my body

I hear you

like dew,  I fall,
completely,

heartlong into the jasmine

of your voice

    to fall like dew ...

What romantic sentence that is dear friend.

Yes, I'm back (partially in some kind of way) but I thought it's about time I grab hold of everything I'm still in love with and force myself to enjoy it again.

What beauty you displayed within your written pictures; what grace you carve into your reader's eyes; what joy you bring into my poetic heart - and beyond...

I hope I didn't let you down by not commenting for so long, but I'm making it up with you

Enigmatically musical undertones in this fragrant fall into heartspeak " where vines ripple with wind".... It's like breathing a melody that caresses without words, and so softly shimmers inwardly.

I scurried over after reading Carol's tribute poem to you. I clicked on a poem, with a double meaning and one that lays dear to my heart "Jasmine" "Jasmine is truly God's gift " to us all. I burn jasmine candles, jasmine incense, and when clients are on my healing table scents gently lull them into trance-like relaxation. Wonder combination of words combing the effect of jasmine and love! Will return to read more. You are like the cleansing morning breeze, laden with all that is beauty. I will learn from you! CArol unknowingly gave me a gift this morning!

I read this as a communion with the One, who is ever present.
The image of leaves being like tongues in the mouth of this largeness to speak of its secrets. Then falling into the intoxication of such presence on 'hearing' it and all being alive in yourself.

A remembrance and return to the Real.

    Simple and most beautiful.

When one is quiet they are almost immune to everything. No sound escapes from the already unknown, that much is certain. This reminds me that sometimes poetry has to be sensitive to the reader as well as the writer. Has to have that delicate swish that moves one person to the next. Like a gentle breeze. A few days ago I looked out my bedroom window and all this dew had fallen on the neighbors hedges. It looked like spider webs. Capturing a moment in time is not an easy thing, yet you seem to do it well.

I have to keep having a stop sign at every other line...

... to feel how each word translates into liveliness completely, Nicolette. You have a sense of closeness and detail of this land that could be made like no other in stanza #1, like togetherness in correlation. Poetically, "where vines ripple" naturally sounds like the breezy comfort of back-and-forth words on a hot summer day so to speak. I know a relaxation in unbearable temperatures, to be shaded in the soft shaking of green. Yet, sooner or later, there has to be more than just a sight of memory with the bush, but active.

So much to go through in 5-7 that it took me graciously a while to smell the beauty in the flow, like lyrics of flexible branches on a tree. I'm sure it inspires some too with given ideas lol!

Wow, takes breath, I can never guess what new unique thing you will be comparing... but it is totally pleasing looking over how you come down in moisture, at dark, preserving the purfumey fantasy of a dear one's voice. I don't think it could be more wonderful even with the same breath otherwise.

Congratulations on a gold I couldn't imagine anything else from, and I was wondering if you wanted to check out a contest of mine,
    http://allpoetry.com/contest/2406057
to see if a piece by Nicoletta Ceccoli could spark something out of you the way your writing does to me.

    Breathtaking

Love is the overflowing well of creativity where our expressions are imbued with blissful exhuberance like nothing else.

This is so breathtakingly beautiful to read and an aromatic feast for the senses. I remember so vividly walking in the night and catching a waft of Jasmine and feeling intoxicated with it. What a wonderful metaphor for your beloved. And yes vocal inflections do have that effect.
