Today I'm declaring as my 'nothing' day
I'll simply exist in ways that don't count.
I'll not reach for goals of any caliber at all,
I'll just let my mind max out; I won't haggle.
If you seek to move me today, good luck.
This is my 'nothing' day, need I say more?
Like mountains, I'll just hang around solidly.
Like water, I'll just lay, until touched.
My thoughts will recede like stationary weeds.
Don't pay the 'clown', I don't need to be entertained, today.

I like this personal (almost an affirmation) take on the prompt... the images of mountains and lakes are well crafted and fit with the natural theme of this poem... thank you for entering this contest

Keep writing

a good beginning, my nothing day has been going on for nearly forty three years! the mountain of my being is weathered by time, but still, i am smoother for it. a good poem.
