She's a pretty lady with long blonde hair
and eyes just as blue as the sky
She don't want much from anyone
but she longs to sprout wings and fly
When she gets a moment or two alone
she wonders out in the open field
her hair blowing gently across her cheeks
she dances around like a princess
blowing kisses in the wind
She's the caretaker and homemaker
that has always wanted to please
she has tried not to complain too much
even when life has brought her to her knees

This somewhat describes you Mom. After all one has to move on in life and enjoy what the then moment throws. The song is just brilliant. I read it or swam thorugh it or have sung it at one go. Great piece of art.

it reminded me of my mother she had twelve kids and then died at the age of 36 without evev living she would of been to busy looking after all of us what i wouldnt give to see her dancing in the wind blowing kisses im sure she would of had that vision on many a day thank you for sharing your beautiful poem

Great read, makes me stop and think about myself *being blonde and blue eyed even..chuckles* very easy to relate to, for so many of us, on many levels, not sure the 5th stanza flowed so well for me tho..over all tho the piece was a very well written dedication to women.

This is a very pretty, and well thought-out piece. In the gentlest way, might I suggest that your rhyme is a little forced, or difficult at times? I find that it disrupts the rhythm a little for me.
I love some of the terms you use, and the mixture of the young, girlish lexis with the realistic set.
