good night

Good night, good night my little one
I trust your day was kind of fun.
And there was lots for you to see and do.

But now it's time for you to sleep.
So cover up those tiny feet.
And listen to these things I'm telling you.

Pray a prayer to the stars above.
And know that they send down their love.
To help you make your little dream come true.

Now cuddle up your little doll.
And know that mommies down the hall.
She has a special love thats just for you.

In the morning when day breaks.
And your little heart awakes.
You can feel the sun come shining through.

And you can play the whole day long.
Remembering this little song.
Knowing that your daddy loves you too.

aww... this is one of the sweetest, most soothing, and well-crafted lullabies i've read. love the details, how your descriptions are beautiful and pleasant, but realistic, not oversweetened, and keep the sound of conversation and language, can really hear someone saying this to their child. "I trust your day was kind of fun"

and such a great way to end this, looking forward to the next day... just great. each word dripping with love and affection for the child. very nice.
