Leo Mon Archa and the Seven Creatures

She was a siren
Exposed skin always flashing
Passion pink
To rosy red
Luxuria was her name

He was a satyr
Corpulent and round
Fir charcoal grey
Torso plum and pink
Gula was his name

She was a harpy
Feathers of gold
Breast green
Eyes dark and black
Avaritia was her name

He was a faun
Fur frazzled and dirty
Skin sky blue
Eyes sleepy, droopy
Acedia was his name

He was a minotaur
Chest fiery red
Fur charcoal black
Mighty and strong
Ira was his name

She was a nymph
Green skinned
Beautiful to behold
Nude from head to toe
Invidia was her name

He was a sphinx
Fair face of light
Fur golden brown
Tail long and firm
Superbia was his name

He was a lion by day
A lamb by night
King of the seven creatures
He had made
Leo Mon Archa was his name

Leo called all his children to his side
"Come to me and with me always abide
I am love, I am good and I am strong
Listen and obey and you will live long"

All creatures vowed to live and obey
Leo Archa blessed each creature that day
He commanded forests and foliage to grow
He cried tears to make streams and rivers flow

Fire burst from the earth cooling to snow capped mountains
Geysers burst forth, waterfalls cascaded down into fountains
Arrays of colors bright and brilliant spread across the plains
Clouds formed in the blue sky sending down refreshing rains

With a loud roar he made the ground quake and quiver
The land cracked and down flowed a mighty river
Into a deep basin forming an ocean surrounding the land
All that Leo made, he declared beautiful and grand

Into the forest he sent his creatures to make their home
The land all around from ocean to ocean was theirs to roam
"Live in peace and love is my final command"
Declared Leo as his creature moved across their given land

She was an echidna
Half woman, half snake
Beautiful, succulent pink breasts
Green, black spotted tail
Diabolos was her name

She slithered near Superbia
Whispering love and passion in his ear
“Come my darling, come be near
Am I not more pleasing than Luxuria?”

“The sphinx is the grandest of all
Others are tiny, you are strong and tall.”
Superbia turned purple with pride
As he lay aroused at Diabolos’ side

Superbia met luxuria by the sea
“Come to the best, let us be free
You are the most beautiful of all
You deserve the one who stands tall.”

Luxuria laid with Superbia that night
Her passion overcame her fright
She burned red with the fires of lust
And began to believe lies and to mistrust.

Gula wondered through the forest looking berries
Luxuria sprung upon him saying, “Come taste my cherries.”
Gula was enticed by his hunger for fruit
So he allowed Luxuria her lustful pursuit

Gula's hunger was overpowered by gluttony for sweets
He forsook his body for the pull of enticing treats
To rid his shame he visited Acedia in bed
“I will work for you if you keep me fed”

Acedia became lazy and slothful without work to do
So he went to visit Ira to tell him things which were untrue
When Ira learned the truth he became enraged and red
He beat and pounced on Acedia until he bled

Avaritia wondered by the rivers edge to pan for gold
What she found was even more precious to behold
She buried her treasure in the ground then went to explore
Greed over came her as she searched for more and more

Invidia saw all that Avaritia had accumulated for her own
She saw creatures together and realized she was alone
She turned an ugly green with envy for what she saw
She thought these unworthy creatures have it all

Diabolos smiled knowing she had accomplished her task
She approached Leo with a demand disguised as question to ask
“All your creatures you have made have now gone astray
By your own laws are you now not going to wipe the away?”

“The deserve to die it is true. The land now belongs to you.
But I will return one day and you may take my very life away.
The land is yours to do what you will, you may destroy and you may kill.
My return will be your dread for then I will crush your head.”

Luxuria, Gula, Avaritia, Acedia, Ira, Invidia, and Superbia
Gave birth to more of the same
Lustful sirens
Gluttonous satyrs
Greedy harpies
Slothful fauns
Wrathful minotaurs
Envious nymphs
Prideful sphinxes
All creatures bowed to Diabolos’ oppressive and evil reign

They prayed and cried for Leo’s return to their land
But they continued to refuse to obey his loving command

Millennia later a little white lamb was born
The creatures laughed at him to scorn
They mocked his words and beat him to death
But the lamb forgave them as he took his last breath

They buried the poor lamb inside a cave
They thought it would rot and decay in his grave
But three days later a victorious lion rose
At his roar Diablolos and all the creatures froze

They knew the lion was Leo Mon Archa of the past
With a mighty roar, Leo declared his reign of love to last
Diablolo’s reign of death ended when Leo rose from the dead
With one swipe of his paw, Leo crushed Diablolo’s head

  • A creative reenactment of an old story; I found the list of characters a bit hard to get through but could not think off a better way to introduce them with so many needed. I found superbia's corruption of luxuria particularly well written. I commend your efforts and thank you for this wonderful entry.
