Instruction: Try to withhold anything rash,
Do not lash out (or in).
Lie that the bittersweet bitterness does not
Leak from the roof of the mouth
And drip to the tongue.
Pretend that the miles of eddys of water
Do not create a sepia existance
Where lungs are restricted to the barest, bluest breath.
Decieve everyone;
Tell them that everything floats on the surface
And point to the tip of the iceberg,
Where the jokers and clowns are successfully fooled,
And even the sirens are lured in by the act.
Frown.
Speculate.
No one has seen through the disguise.

I'm sorry I didn't realise the contest was specialised, its the first time on the website and I'm new to the whole thing!
The poem is not very obvious if you don't know me but its about, in short, the bitterness felt towards a loved one being a long way away but attempting to hold it in so you dont ruin things for them, and also holding things together for people that are worried about you.
Thanks for commenting though

Thanks for the entry Take, I have to be honest though I don't get where the love is here. Perhaps, I'm missing something obvious or too deep. Other than that it has a lot of merit and would probably do very well in a contest about life, deceit etc?
Thanks anyway.
