There's a certain poignant beauty
about flowers in the Spring;
though ephemerals, like life and love,
they misdoubt what time might bring.
The promise in a budding rose
illuminates the day ...
and even snipped by pruning shears,
may dower a bouquet.
So ... though this bloom might fade away,
it makes the world a brighter place,
while dew envelopes that corsage
in gossamer ... and lace ... .

mmmm...This one is yummy! The continuity of the bloom suggested is grand! From bud on plant, to bloom in vase, and often dried and saved between the pages of a book...Congratulations on the Bronze.

This is a beautiful piece, stirring imagery and creates such emotions. Gorgeous, congrats on the bronze.

Hmmm, not sure if I'm a total idiot or not . . . the jury's still out!
I found this utterly beautiful. Like you i find such depth and meaning in the glory of a flower. And the added touch here is the eternal nature of that glory, long after the bloom has faded--I found that idea most captivating, and encouraging. Lovely, lovely thoughts.

Beautiful write, brother. Just finished reading something fanciful. This is truly a wonderful way to relax from a hard day. Write on and good luck. One.
