The Swarm

I began to feel sick
and dizzy also.

discordant action
plowing me flat.

I had to swerve around
each and every one.

off-balance, I was
and feeling the heat.

I wanted some space
but I wasn't given any.

buzzing around my ears
and in my face.

although I wasn't touching,
the putrid honey I could taste.

it was in the air
sticking against me.

an ant on a leaf
in the concrete jungle.

trapped in the swarm
tip-toed around the plug-hole.
