Naked anger comes
like the violent upheaval
of internal fires
in a quiescent volcano.
A sudden burst,
and it's all over.
All men seem to have
latent tendencies
for violence ...
The worst become monsters:
child-abusers, rapists,
murderers ...
some cover it better
and become cops ...
or gym teachers.
But the urge to abuse
and dominate others
is always there ...
no matter how deep
it's buried ...
the ape lies waiting ...
deep in our psyches.
