Eyes that look down when you pass by,
Eyes that carry not one sparkle from within.
Tracks of tears you can trace the lines,
from the lonesome bye and bye.
Life has drawn her a losing hand and nowhere to stand,
left all alone and not one passing has a friendly hand .
In a world so uncaring why cant we see ,
The lonely and the hoping to be free .
They are on our street corners ,
sitting next to you in church Wwill it ever stop.
They walk along side of us in grocery stores,
do we see them and their sad eyes I think not .
In a world that preaches love and christianity today,
I ask how much worse should it become before we awake .
None of us are amune to this life of sorrow and pain,
its but its the way of the world they say.
Old lonesome one day we shall all have our share,
in a world that truly doesnt care .
Our tears will be ignored for you have taught them the way,
To ignore the needy this very day .
I have seen ones with near nothing at all ,
share their only meal when old lonely came to call.
They have given of their warm clothing to help those cold ,
I bet you couldnt say the same for yourself though .
Sad it is what humanity has come to today,
Everyone yelling thats mine go away .
Tears do fall for we have lost the meaning of love ,
And for so many everything is just not enough .

This truly is how the world seems but just as you believe there is not one who cares there comes one who reaches out their heart and eases your sorrow. There are ones like that out there, they may be few but they are there.

Thanks for this eye opening poem! So many times we never see the pain and lonelyness that's right in front of us. One kind word...one kind jester can make all the difference to one lost person.

Greed, has happened in this world! So many have to have what the other has that they loose thier minds trying to get it, knocking over the lonely never looking back. Well said words...if only there was an answer...and yes, it is getting worse...Very thought provoking words of truth...well done, thanks for sharing
