This door was open... I crept in
and now, with joy, my life begins.
Heaven is my home forever,
yet ties to earth I shall not sever.
I see you still and love you, close
but life in Heaven I love most
and someday you will find this door
and then, together, we'll love more.
Mourn me briefly, please, now see
God's embrace has captured me
Author notes
My warmest love and sympathy to your family at this time of sorrow.

Thank you.
Thank you. this is a precious poem and captures thoughts that have been through my mind. It's so calming and gives an essence of content and dignity in death. This is very well written, and good luck in the contest.

a good poem, gentle and caring, it shows a heart that is light with compassion for other people in the world.
