Seatbelts A Must

It's a fact the seatbelts do save lives
and to save lives we all must strive
belting up in cars is now a matter of course
although at first we all felt forced.

All new buses should be fitted with them
so that more lives we do not condemn,
for children wriggle and can't sit still
and don't think about how traffic kills.

There are so many vehicles on the road
only one needs to break fast and lose their load
for then it has that domino effect
so we must do what we can to all protect.

If a bus breaks quickly and has to swerve
passengers may be tossed around getting injuries they don't deserve,
while seatbelts keep them locked in their seats
to save more lives and not delete.

The elderly can be fragile and unsteady
seatbelts in the bus would keep them more steady,
if an accident occurred they'd be easier to find
and injured bodies would not be entwined.

Accidents on buses are a nasty sight
having everyone in a seatbelt to me seems right,
passengers are safely buckled in
and the driver could then concentrate with a grin.

With seatbelts in cars and aeroplanes
having them in a bus seems to me quite sane,
at the end of the day it's our safety that matters
so that all our lives don't end up in tatters.

Author notes

I don't think twice now putting my seatbelt on in my car. Seatbelts in buses would save more lives as passengers wouldn't be thrown around in an accident. We have them in cars and areoplanes so why not buses? They are all modes of transport that need safety measures.

    Tough to change things!

But plain sense is just plain sense. What is the value of one life? Protecting lives is a neccesity.

    Excellent

You expressed you point of view on this with great detail and logic. So full of true. Best of luck in the contest.

  • I really liked this...and it spoke volumes! We too wore seatbelts even before mandatory and if the kids unbuckled the car was pulled to a stop. How can that teach our children to continue when not required on transportation they ride regularly? We may be the best driver in the world but we can NEVER know what the other driver will do.
