Colour Music and Dancing,
Take a step back in time,
Welcome to the 50's.
The caddy's rumble past,
their tail fins proudly displayed,
The buildings a rainbow of colour,
decrepit yet seemingly beautiful,
But underneath there are secrets.
In the streets of Havana,
Locals dance the nights away,
The girls samba walking and,
The guys salsa stepping,
To the rhythms of hot Latin beats.
Government officials killing,
With cigars in their mouths,
And tourism filling the pockets,
While the residents live in the past,
Without experience of the modern world,
They know no difference.
But underneath the facade,
Is scandal, greed and violence,
Disappearances and missing persons,
Nobody questions,
Nobody asks the police.
Soon all will change,
But do people really want it to change?
The seemingly perfect country,
The incredible streets,
Full of colour and vibrance,
Music and dancing,
The Latin beats cha cha charring,
And the Cadillac's gas guzzling.
Has this communists country succeeded?
In a way people don't imagine.
Many have died for it,
But still,
You can't call it unforgettable,
And the country is incredible,
1950's America,
In 21st Century Cuba.
