Light of Life

ever seen the light
that flickers dimly
far from your sight
floating so simply
at the end of the darkness
that everyone is talking about
that is supposed to bring bliss
a way for once to get out
what if that light far away
was really deep inside your heart
hidden far from the light of day
and it's been there from the start
what keeps you going and looking
for what is foggy and unsure
but until you do you will keep living
searching for that one thing, pure
what if though that one pure thing
you find and it finds you
doesnt make u laugh or sing
but the dark and emptyness grew
consuming the light killing inside
any thoughts of happiness or love
no longer in your soul abide
what if this is what we are made of
vessels made to be filled and cleared
to be used and kept as tools
for the ones loved and feared
till we drown in our own tears pools
and extinguish that light completely
knowing we made them happy some how
but not knowing if they even agree
or know that we are dead inside now
what if this is really what life is
that little light ment to live and die
and that nothing that anyone else ever says
will give hope to that light to truely fly...
