Here I am
I have been here since the beggining
I have seen this city grow
And I have seen it change
This was a god city once
Everyone was friendly
We had no problems
There were many trees like me once
But they are all gone now
All because man had to expand
Man had to spread out and accept technology
Many things have changed here
There are now gangsters here
They rob banks, stores, and old ladies with their walkers
Everything is different
People used to have the time to sit under my expanding branches and relax
But not anymore
People need to go inside and sleep
They need to escape from the outside world
But what I find sad is that people shouldn't have to escape from anything
They should be peaceful
They should be able to treat their neighbor as they do themselves
But that will never be
For the ignorance of man is too great
It seems that they are unable to learn from their mistakes
Make peace instead of never ending war
But we have changed to a point of no return
I will be gone soon
But before I go
May I please see some change

A young person ~ wonderful!
Your persona is the tree and that is a good poetic tactic in this contest. A shape poem with a tree's plea. Thank you very much. It was a pleasure to read. [Take care to proof read well, won't you? ]
Will.
