Innocent blue eyes
Piercing into my very being.
She looks as if she is so fragile;
A single kiss would shatter her.
At the same time there is this strength
That emits from her into me.
Every time our eyes meet,
Even if it's for only a second,
I have this overwhelming feeling,
That burns in my chest,
To protect her from this harsh world.
Her porcelain face is that
Of a guardian angel.
Her smile tells a story of hardships
But her eyes tell a different story;
One of an innocent little girl.
One day I might have the courage
To softly whisper a single word to her.
One day I might have the courage,
To hold her gaze for just a second longer.

I love the innocence of this piece, the fact that all of us, not just younger people, should kiss goodbye fear and take love by the hand without waiting a moment longer. Beautiful. Best to you fine poet
