You say you know me, you say you care
But in all honesty you’ve never really been there.
You laughed when I told you that my late cousin had died
While it was in you I really thought I could confide.

Every day you would tell me you could have the best
I simply stared and told you to just join the rest.
You told me I was the ugliest girl you’ve ever seen
Yet somehow you stay with me, your decision so keen.

I have no idea why I put up with the abuse
Verbal and physical, you just let your fury loose.
I had marks on my arms and scars on my heart
All because you had to use me as your treacherous dart.

If you never really loved me, if you never really cared,
Then why is it you who always said you’d be there?
If you knew what was good for me why would I be loving you?
If I knew what was good for me why wouldn’t I just sue?

Although in all honesty you’ve never been there
