I wish you would stop making promises
That you know you can't keep
You dig yourself into ditches
Until you've fallen knee-deep.
As I lie under mountains of covers
I think of the words you said
They keep me up at night
As I'm lying there in bed.
Because I love you so much
I continue to forgive
But I've poured out my compassion
There's none left for me to give.
You dig yourself into ditches
Until you've fallen knee-deep
I wish you would stop making promises
That you know you can't keep.
Author notes
Just a little bit of what I'm feeling right now.

It's so great when people can share their feelings with others through poetry. In my opinon poetry is the best way to come to terms with your feelings. This is a beautiful poem and good luck in the contest!

A good vent of what you're feeling. Sounds like quite a bit to me. It hurts when people don't keep their promises, doesn't it? Whoever's done this to you they have no right. Anyway thanks for entering my contest.
Good luck.
Brian
