My feet are weary,
my shoes wearing thin
travelling along a dusty road
to nowhere, my heart in a spin
I leave nothing behind
for I had nothing to give
wasted years of searching
no reason to live
My heart is saddened and lonely
hardened by life
I've created my own prison
created my own strife
This road leads to nowhere
as there is no life after death
and I just keep trudging on
till I unleash my last breath
Do not pity me, for I am lost in time
do not grieve for me, or cry
just remember the nowhere road
and perhaps say goodbye!

if there was some imagery, even if it be only to describe bleakness, this would be a bit more concrete in the mind...the tone and diction used to express the narrator's thoughts was well chosen. a nice piece.

This is so very dark and sad ... The inspiration drawn from the picture is strangly beautiful in it's own powerful words ... thank you very much for your entry and good luck in the contest ...

We're all on that road. Where it leads is up to us. I have days where I feel just like this. Good poem, and a wonderful take on the photo prompt for the contest.
Best wishes to you.
