i.
you carry a head heavy with stars
and your lips are scented with November rain;
when you kiss me, I feel
sunsets and coconut breeze
raising goosebumps
upon the still of my back;
and I smell the monsoon
seeping into our skin,
wet and warm with the early-pink glow,
as we are drenched in volumes of
mist and fragrant jasmine,
in words unneeded
and unsaid.
in this moment,
your eyes are mine and
my lips are yours;
my blood beats true
as I beat
only for
you.
ii.
I see the universe held within your mouth and
the horizon’s last breath in the whisper
of your eyelashes.
you are the fabric of the crescent moon, and
the velvet of twilight shadows;
you open me and close me
like a desert blossom
and I cannot deny that
you are the song of my soul,
the spark driving my pen,
the spirit of the wind upon my shoulders
and I will not deny that
the cosmos
beats a tune between our hearts,
fills the blank sky with
our winter sonata,
catches our frostbitten fingers
within its flickering starsong.
iii.
you piece me together and
carry me apart,
drink in my tears and my
salty prayers;
And
you are
everything in me, and
in everything I see, and
you are
everything I love, for you
show me what
we can be.

very beautiful imagery here, i especially liked the beginning of ii. some of it feels a bit too soft for me, but that's probably because i'm not in the right mood- it's well written. this is a very nice and thoughtful gift, as well
