What did you think they were for......

I bring you colours with which to paint this day,
I bring you a soothing balm for fledgling wings,
Now give me your hand, rise up, it's time to play,
Come on lets race to the worlds vaulted ceiling,
So we can behold the great blue green gem...
That is our world....

We'll float upon these cool and lofty winds,
Basking in the majesty that is life incarnate,
For all our woes play only fleeting parts,
In a game thats best played with a partner,
Now I have a surprise, guess, "Tag your it"....
Catch me if you can.....

Now this is how we were meant to use our wings,
Playing tag in the playground above the clouds,
Convorting wildly and singing as free as birds,
Damn, I should have zigged but instead I zagged,
I copped it sweet across the rump I'm it.....
I'll catch you if I can.....

Author notes

I bet you thought it would be something darkly depressing.....sometimes I play in the light.....not quite finished but it is nearly 4 am....

Thanks. Thanks for reminding me not to be so damn serious all the time. I miss the days when my poetry was more like this. ^_^

This is a very playful and well conveyed piece. There is a lovely alluring quality about the write, creating a wonderfully tempted dreamscape of romantic inclination. Nicely penned!
