Desolate wasteland, rough and cold
Every single second of time begins to unfold
A long path ahead marks the end of the strife
Yet the dangerous creatures ahead could mark the end of your life.
Beware of the coyotes, who will rip you apart
And the horrifying bears, they will use you as a dart.
Don’t forget the terrible hyenas, craving human flesh
Or the stampeding bulls, who will turn you to mesh.
They are not the only problems you will have to face
Thirst, pain, and starvation, what an enduring race
It doesn’t end there, it only gets worse
Remember you’re alone; you might as well pack the hearse.
Don’t get discouraged yet; you still have years to go
Winding, winding, winding, down this curving road
You might be afraid, but really, aren’t we all?
You might want to quit, to just jump and fall.
Could this really be life?
This long winding path?
Or could this be another test
We never learned this in math!
The real world is more frightening
Cruel and untame
So I tell you young humans
Please go back the way you came.
