When Did It Happen

Vibrant and young with joy abound,
one day it was gone and I looked all around.
When did it happen the day youth took a turn,
why wasnt I aware I became concerned.

It seemed like it rushed in overnight,
one day I was at peace then tears filled my eyes.
No warning signals no goodbyes,
it seemed to have overtaken me over night.

My skin changed it seems so dry ,
I now wear glasses for my poor eyes.
My weight is out of hand and my clothes no longer fit,
I cant believe the shape today I am in.

No energy and it takes all I have most times,
just to do necessary things and tears fill my eyes.
What is this thing they call age,
and why did it sneak up on me this way.

In looking and I didnt have to look too far back,
a time where I was strong and looks I didnt lack.
Job and home and having so much fun ,
then I come back to reallity and find youth is gone .

Age is a lesson we all must learn,
if you dont take care of your body it will cause concern.
For in the learning you slow way down ,
and know those young vibrant days are all gone now.

The change you find as you now ,
learn to live  we often go alone.
In a body tired and left with memories,
to fill your days in a once happy home.

The joys you gave to others ,
along the way.
Will be the highlights,
when they come to greet you.
on those lonesome days,

But what about those who found no joy,
lived for only themselves and others they annoyed.
What will be the light found in such a home,
where the memories are nill their life left all alone .
