Once or twice before
I wonder where that bright girl went
I want to see her more.

Now every shirt your wear
Is showing a brand name
Every breath you take is part
Of that new girl you've became.

Yearning for acceptance
Dreaming and hoping for love
Forgetting that God is there
Sending love from heaven above.

Look at yourself
Past the eyeligner
Dig deeper than your clothes
That are cute and designer.

I don't care at about
your looks on the outside
I care about the real true you
The reason for every tear you've cried.

Just look at your life
Past each beautiful curl
Deep down inside
You're a beautiful girl.
