As your eye closes i see it,
a realisation overwhelms me as i finally comprehend what i did to you
you look down for a second refusing to meet my gaze,
the second feels like an eternity as a tear rolls down your cheek
again your eyes close, holding in the pain
even now,
in this last moment,
you attempt to spare me the anguish with which i burdened your delicate brow
another tear soils your porcelain features and i,
with a rough thumb,
brush it away
you flinch
even this imperfection becomes perfect on you, such is your transcendent
beauty
and i back away
looking to the sky
biting my lip and blinking back tears
