Is blaring out his radio,
Competing loudly with Mike who's
revving up his lawn mower to mow...
Another Peaceful Valley Sunday -
Anything but peaceful here!
Noisy neighbors that are all the same;
It just deafens my ears!
Mike and Ann, their dogs are loose -
down the street they're chasing them.
And Pete is off to leave the state;
he's out on bail, another chance for him.
Another Peaceful Valley Sunday:
Hear the sheriff's sirens blare-
Another drug bust must be close by us;
The things we live with out here!
The stupid things they do
out in the county here,
thinking the law's too far away...
They were wrong all along,
Now what do they have to say?
I wish our neighbors knew decency!
Ta-ta-ta-ta.....
Another Peaceful Valley Sunday
Anything but peace is in the air;
Another Peaceful Valley Sunday -
The things that go on way out here!
Another Peaceful Valley Sunday....

I hate land development. When we first moved out to the county 12 years ago, it was ideal - like Thoreau on Walden Pond. Now, well, you can see...and probably relate.
The subdivisions on either side are worse, essentially code-named "Noah's Ark"-you don't go there unless you travel in pairs.

Yes, peace has a premium that not all can afford hahaha thanks for your entry lol

Very clever
Oh I did find so much ironic humor in this piece. Unfortunately, it is over the 25 line limit requested in the contest specs. However, still an entertaining piece. Thank you so much for your entry. ~Pamela

Thank you for entering the competition but I did not laugh out loud. Good poem though.

You know besides getting older, I'm getting a little dense as well. I didn't know you were mimicking the song but only sending the link because of the similarity in the title. I should have read the contest instructions!
Per you message about, "...it's awful quiet in that group." That not a bad thing if you think about it.
I've only belonged to one single group since I've been a member here and that was/is the Poesia en Espanol group.
Haven't been in touch with anyone from that group in years.
Matter a fact, I'd better get writing some Spanish poems before the Lord of the Inkwells tells me that I cannot fill my pen any more.lol
Also, I did lose a bunch of messages the other night that I had in queue. I'm not the best at this stuff. I've deleted my list of favorites three times and don't even know what I touched to do it!lol
I went to the Las Vegas Hilton this morning and saw my old friends there. I worked there for twenty-five years.
So, any woman who gets me will be considerably lucky because I open car doors, make meals from scratch, bake, run the dishwasher, wake you up on time, breakfast in bed, and pick up your things from the dry-cleaners. All for a dollar tip!lol
See you later. Got to get my own food, I'm starving!
