I lay upon my once empty sheets,
Gazing upon a woman whom I once loved.
Staring at her perfect face, like an angel,
Awake and aware I shouldn't be here.
Watching the rise and fall of her beating heart,
Giving her life and giving me woe.
Laying down upon my bed in a stupor,
As I gaze upon the cascade of her raven hair.
Thinking lightly of why fate has brought us together,
In the strangest of ways, to be here beside me.
Protecting her from the family she hates,
The world she despised, I sit, and stare....
Author notes
This is actually what I was doing at 1 a.m. last night, my ex had come to my house and fallen asleep on my bed, and I sat there and wondered why this was happening to me ^^
