imagery pivoting and delving
into the cores of sensual experience,
with hands moving across regions of
sensitive pores,
aching places of archaic stimuli;
we were
turkey on rye,
bananas and apples on cool spring days
lounging in sunlight, shade overhead with
head on the shoulder,
arm around the neck,
hands intertwined,
a charismatic and undeniable feeling
of being,
of worthy occupation,
of a siege gone, perfectly arrayed,
you stole the fortifications of my
heart,
and made them your own,
integrating your thoughts,
the eclipses of your body into the
schedule of my synapses,

lose the visions of magnificence

your arms, the veins of your wrist,
and curve of your earlobe and the shape of your neck,
