BUDDHA BELLY
Why do I love you?
Let me count the reasons...
I love you because you're a cat
...and you're adorably fat...
you are my Buddha Belly
I love your sweet face
and your cute gentle ways
green-eyed, perpetually smiling
with big mouse ears
I love you for your deep sighs
your little wheeze when you sleep
even for your gentle hisses
I adore your orange and white stripes
and the feathery camouflage on your back
(I often wonder what it's for)
I love you because you've never killed
or ever drank blood for the thrill
(Don't ever sacrifice your Buddhahood)
How when I scratch your back
it drives you crazy...
and you wildly knead and purr
When you lie on your back
with your big belly and paws curled up
like a huge furry ball with feet and whiskers
I love you for being Garfield and Morris
all rolly-pollied into one
and for just being you
I love you for many more reasons
and even more with every season
I will never finish saying why I love you...
