Sun peeks from the dawn of east,
Spreading its rays on ocean waves,
Scintillating light crashes, brave
Among the water’s melodic trance,
Melting in its strange, flowing dance.
Sitting on the side of the shore,
Loving every breath of wind,
Watching the seagulls soar.
And oh so suddenly,
A smile overtakes my lips,
A shudders runs along my hips,
My head spins with wonder!
Laughter overcomes my eyes,
Sadness is banished from these skies,
Light flows with rhythm on the tide,
With your hand closely held in mine,
All the world spins on by.
Sit with me, through all of time,
Gently resting by the seaside,
And when the morning light dies,
A place to rest we’ll find.
Somewhere the stars shine like day,
Where all somber light fades away,
Where we can lay in silence.
Gently resting, you and I,
Under the pastel-spread of the nighttime sky.
