In the soft glow of calming summer sun
the song birds trill about the oak tree.
We sit on the steps you one below me
and I cradle you in my arms.
The small birds flit about and play
as they flutter through the air.
I kiss you behind the ear
and whisper love you softly.
Our life is as easy as these little birds
music and a little seed was all we needed
to make this shambled shack a home
full of love and warmth.
These two birds have nested in the same fork
since we moved hear three years ago.
Every morning their music resounds
and I see your sleeping form dreaming.
I know tomorrow in the coarse of work and worry
I will hear the songs of small birds
and I will think of and see you with a smile.
