Sister (7th grade poem)

being a sister is a special gift
loving
caring
for a younger sibling
playing spy
with Micah is so much fun
I climb a giant pine tree
looking out for big brother bully Caleb
who is not really a bully
I jump
tackling him, causing him to tumble to the ground
Micah runs to save the day
giggling to myself
I think
I have a wonderful gift
family
I see joy and gladness in their eyes
the scent of love is all around
I listen to the laughter
that comes from deep within their hearts
for years we have pasted
we have all changed
in wisdom
in emotions
in growth
we still love each other all the same
helping with homework
by the bidding of the mom, cleaning our rooms
trying to do it all the time with a smile
spending time with family is important
caring for my little brother
busy as a bee
always wearing a smile
serving others
protecting those special to me
stinging people that hurt Micah
and the rest of my hive
being a big sister is great.
