Flames
Flames all around
just burning.
Burning with the intensity of waves that rupture the sea,
of lightning that awakens the night sky.
You yell, "O Wicked! Cease your destruction!"
They mock your words as they capture
your prized possessions
your cherished memories
your life once known.
You yell, "Why? Why me? What did I do to deserve this?"
They don't listen.
You yell louder, "Stop! In everything that is holy, stop!"
They ignore.
They know that for every end, there is to be a new beginning,
waiting to arise from the ashes of your past.
But because your preoccupied with your worries,
they continue to burn and dance,
dance as time stands still.

welcome to allpoetry
I really like the way you have written this out... your thoughts flow very well together with a great rhythm. I like the theme and understand the feeling as well. Very nice. Please continue writing and sharing.
