From heart so frail, not unblemished,
A thought for consideration.
A tale permit, though far unfinished
Of a higher, dearer relation.
I had chased the whirlwinds
Left with dust and grit and sand.
So many times entrenched in sin
Hands full o' broken strands.
Holding high, yet within reach,
A condescending alluring Vision.
Greater Heart, with greater speech
Encouraging my decision.
Upon my choice, He took me,
And left behind my past.
In bottomless depths, unsearchable seas,
My sins He had cast.
He placed me on broadened lands,
Near cooler, clearer waters.
I was led by kinder Hands,
Surrounded by His sons and daughters.
He took me to His mountain,
And left me at its base.
He told me of a higher Fountain,
Where I could see His face.
I soon saw another decision,
Left before my feet.
This singing voice, drawing mission,
I knew I must complete.
Along the way, He left me,
Words and food and water to drink,
A map to help me see
A heart that would not flinch.
I have a Mountain, easy to see,
A place to plant my heart.
Rushing 'round, air so free
My place where I start.
Sometimes I falter, lose my way,
He's grieved, but not surprised.
He comes to me when I pray,
I know I'm not despised.
I'll find that Fountain, this I know,
My path is freshly trampled.
Each upward step helps me grow,
His goodness I have sampled.
Yet in the walk I come to see,
Who I am and am not.
This Mountain's wind sings a decree
What I'm all about.
Those who set their sights
On things that aren't fixed,
Are lost in dark, beyond light,
With hearts so very vexed.
Aim the eyes of your heart
On that which will not move.
Find the grace that e'er imparts,
And love that has been proved.
Find your bearing on the One,
The Bright and Shining Star.
Know the Father and the Son,
And know just who you are.

This was a very rich and uplifting poem! The words were very true, and the rythm and rhyme flowed wonderfully! To know that the Father watches over us and still cares for us when we fall is a very humbling, and terriffic thought indeed. It is a long climb up the mountain of which you speak, but once we reach the top, it will all be worth it! Beautiful poem! Thanks for sharing. God bless.
