In my heart I know there is room
for all beliefs of many faiths
Someday we will acknowledge
that their God is our God,
just called by a different name.
No matter the deity, we all
in our own way kneel to pray.
What difference does
a name make if you believe?
Great Spirit is the One who lives
in the heart of me, for I
know He is my Higher Power.
He represents the purity
of a lifestyle woven to
the Mother Earth in simplicity.
He calls us to walk softly
upon our Mother, to revere,
to follow the laws of nature
for the good of every man.
“Take no more than you need.”
is my favorite mantra, for I
believe we must stop the raping
of the mother, lest she die.
I also follow the teachings of
wise men and deities such as
Buddha, whose beliefs closely
follow those of my ancestors.
Let us each have our own deity,
but respect other men their ways.
How beautiful it would be
to have a universal faith that would
not tear us apart and pit us
against one another…perhaps some day.

I could not agree more with you!! I was raised in the catholic church and attended catholic school as did my mother before me....But she always fond of telling me that while there is only one god He goes by many names and to be respectful of all His names and not just the one we know Him by. There is no such thing as a wrong religion. Very powerful words you have penned here and I wish you many blessings...
