Standing invisibly, a specter unwitnessed, as witness to she who was my life, in so many guises of splendid feminine beauty, as she falls in love again, and feel the dashing of my heart.
I stoop to pick up the shards, but cut my withered, palsied fingers as I try to reassemble it.
My very life's flow serving as a binding mortar, in a doomed attempt to piece it together once more.
Finally, believing I have succeeded,
I look up to have my hopes shattered, as she makes love with another,
and I die a million deaths in a single second.
She is gone, and I am an old fool, beating my head on a hard, hollow wall.

Words fail me.
This reminds me a little of how I feel as well. Most of it is what I'm afraid I'll be feeling someday soon.
Thanks for entering. -
nice.
This reminds me of my old boyfriend. but its a good poem -
This is very powerful, the emotion is so raw, so out there. You can really see that you opened your heart up for this one. I love it.
