In some other life, or time of magic,
wind sang sonorous, and I replete,
with a sense of self and vibrant purpose,
was regaled by the sun and the moon,
favored by the very air of anticipation.
I reached out to the world on gentle breezes,
their caresses ruffling through me, extending,
in mutual play, boundless sustenance,
and I swayed, eager, content, beeming in my skirts.
With time, the wind shifted, and the trials began,
draining life’s easy spring color, becoming light
of another kind, or a memory held in silent weeping.
