The faint smell of dew rises
Fog caresses me as I live in my dreams
The copper sky floating by
You live in the horizon
The feeling of being in transit
As you leave Summer
And you merge to Autumn
September Sleeps
Until shaken by
Childhood memories
You remember when we were young
Holding hands laughing
And kissing on our cheeks
Raking and jumping in piles of leaves
Pushing each other on the swings
Take me back to simple sweet September
Something I shall always remember
For once we came upon October
You were gone
September sleeps once again
And frigid frost wins
And your can't live in the past forever
But every time the ninth month comes by
I think of you and those beautiful copper skies.
