A stranger glares at me, seething,
sending sheer terror up my spine.
White light spins in his eyes-
a lighthouse, spent a lifetime
searching in vain for someone, somewhere.
Whom is now right across the room,
Both pairs of eyes in a deadly stare.
An urgent message needs to be relayed;
for fathoms and fathoms below,
demons are at play.
They refuse to let light penetrate the dark;
where fathoms and fathoms below,
murder slowly engulfs his heart.
