Just a child herself, will have one of her own,
who would take advantage of one so young.
She remembers the first time, how it hurt,
when daddy told her to never tell a soul.
Things happening today are hard to condone,
this sick man deserves to be hung.
Was creepy when he stuck his hands under her shirt,
it went further than that, he lost all control.
Much too young, to have learned how to hate,
to go through all the things that she had.
All innocence lost in her twelfth year,
the night daddy came home horny and drunk.
Shouldnt even have a period, much less be late,
holds a deep secret, the father is her Dad.
The thought of speaking up fills her with fear,
but she needs to get rid of all this junk.
She was just twelve when her innocence was lost,
for the rest of her life she will pay the cost.

To be the innocent victim of abuse. I was daddy's little secret myself for many years. Disgusting man he was. This poem really hit home, and hard. Thank you for sharing it with us on AP.
