The Wonder Toy

Endless silver spiraling,
Twisting in order to form,
An extraterrestrial being;
                                                    The likes of which has never been seen before.

Lacking in use beyond the simplest;
An object intended for entertainment.
Giving idealistic joy for broken hearts,
                                                Mended so eagerly by the soft chatter of metal on metal.

Like a song to the ears of a child,
Given voice in order to be freed--
The toy that forever is wild,
                                                                Even as it is becomes as tame as a tree.

One moment, as still as the inanimate,
The next alive with vivid movement--
This harmless little torrent,
                            Leaping down the stairs of Life with naught but playfulness to keep it afly.

Then again, it falls into place,
Frozen as ice on the roof.
Stilled once more in life's great race,
                                                Until the child might seek it and take it to play.

Ah but 'tis the wonder toy,
Of patience utter and true,
A silver god of simple pleasures,
                                                          Known by all, enjoyed by few.

Author notes

Yay! Alright--I'm not going to tell you what it is, 'cause that takes all the fun out of it! If you WANT me to tell you, just message me any I will--but that seems sooo boring. lol I had fun with this. xD

Also, I wrote it, just for a little neatness, so that it still sounds alright WITHOUT the final lines to each stanza(the ones I have pushed out the the side.) Go ahead; read it both ways. ^^
