now:
my speechlessness
for its own ear,
as I was made for yours.
Life;
too much laps this purfling,
seams dissolve,
peg-cage held high entreats
a luthier's hand -
"straighten me."
unstrung!
bridge/heart lost,
sound-post/soul fallen...
Yet here;
am I, even more what I am -
my music/my self.

'purfling': the inlaid seams around the edges of the violin body.
The sound-post is often referred to as 'the soul' of the violin by luthiers and the bridge as its 'heart'. They are both crucial for any sound to be made.

WELL WORTHY OF SILVER, THE VIOLIN IS BEAUTIFUL HERE

the abysses deep and dark
I tied with bridge and ark
the velvet forests green
I baptized with prayer and dream.

Ultra smooth - vocally and musically. This gave such a personal touch to music, as music should always have. The stunning portrayal gives such a clean and captivating motion.

Congratulations on the silver!...You have chosen a wonderful title that sets the tone for the rest of the piece, for me...Seeking...Voice...Music...The 'hand' of the luthier...the broken bridge/heart...these are such rich spiritual images that make for a gorgeous read...A song, if you will, of ideas that make no claim on the 'way', only sings of the Truth, the individual journey and 'song'...I am loving this one, my friend... Peace, Rhonda

Great first line... speechlessness /for its own ear. Yourself as a violin. Enjoyed the unstrung!
bridge/heart lost, sound-post/soul fallen...
Thank you for your entry!

You think so?! Oh' great, I love this instrument... and guess it always is about something more. I see more of that now, only after having written it.
I struggled with the fifty word limit, but probably would have waffled for ages without it. Thanks for your sound-board, belly and ribs

This is so lovely...makes me think of a sonata, or something equally beautiful being played in background.
Very strong word choices!

What a thought, can't really claim credit for that though, as I'm sure that it's the instrument itself which does it. So inviting to add more in that way, now you've said it, I think I may well do so later. Thanks again Magic Whisperer

Thanks Rheea. Am still trying to tease it into shape and would like more than the fifty words. Mmm... most probably a good exercise though.
